Obituary For Mary G. Odato

Age 97, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, of Brentwood.

Wife of the late Gene T. Odato; mother of Margaret Eileen (Ed) Einloth, Gene F. (Kathy) Odato, Nancy (Frank) Szegedy, Marianne (Pearce Miller) McCoy, Christopher (Marjorie) Odato and the late Michael Odato; daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Haller) Manley; sister of the late James F. Manley; Nana of Eric (Trish), Michelle, Laurel, Michael (Morgan), Nick, Meredith (Andrew), Gino (Nikki) and Connor; great-grandmother of Jimmy, Rosalind and Adeline. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary, known to many, as "The lady who walked Brownsville Road", loved spending her time playing solitaire, bridge, bowling, golfing, tending to her garden and doing puzzles. She was a longtime member of The Sweet Adeline's, enjoyed traveling with Gene to various countries, camping trips, and the vacations in Florida with her family. A good time was had by all who visited Nana's Nook, accompanied by a shot of Red Stag. "Mary O" had a warm and welcoming personality and left a lasting impression on anyone she met.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, September 1, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to the Dementia Society of America, 188 N Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 or the American Cancer Society, 106 Merchant Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

I have so many good memories of my times with Mary, I golfed and bowled with her for many years, and we helped at several Mario Lemieux golf tournaments, I also went on one of the Europeon trips with her and your dad.
