Obituary For Mary Geraldine Bartek (Moore)

Age 80, of Brentwood, peacefully passed and reunited with her late husband, Edward R. Bartek and her oldest grandson, Aidan Barker, on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Loving and supporting mom of Eddie (Kim) Bartek, Kathy (Brian) Rock, Eileen (Matt) Barker, and Maureen (Joe) Hayes; proud "Grandma Mary" of Stella, Ava, Maura and Sara Barker, Shane and Max Rock, Hannah, Maddie and Joey Hayes, Anthony and the late Ava Dorrance, and the late Aidan Barker; daughter of the late William (Mary) Moore; cherished sister of John Moore, twin brother Gerald (Wilma) Moore and Eileen (Bill) Pakula; sister-in-law of the late Betty (Paul) Bradley, the late Bill (survived by Susan) Bartek, and the late Beverly Bartek. Also survived and loved by her dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was, quite simply, the best mom anyone could every hope for. Her kindness was endless, her love unconditional, and her gentle spirit made everyone around her feel safe and cherished. She gave so much of herself without ever asking for anything in return, always putting the happiness and needs of others before her own. Her warmth, sweetness, and wonderful sense of humor brought light into our lives, even on the hardest days. She was the heart of our family, and being loved by her was one of life's greatest gifts. Though we will miss her more than words can ever express, her love will remain with us forever - in our memories, in our laughter, and in the people we have become because of her.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Sylvester Church at 10:30. If desired, family suggests contributions to dropthepuckoncancer.com or Meals on Wheels, 3754 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Please send condolences to johnfslater.com

Mary sat with me in high school when we were learning to type. I was so worried I couldn't do it but Mary sat right beside me and said yes you can just go slow and think about where the letters are. I will never forget her kindness to help me. She is with Ed now RI P Mary
