June 29, 1922 - November 13, 2015

Hovis, Mary Lou Age 93, on Friday, November 13, 2015 of Pleasant Hills.

Loving mother of Suzanne Livezey, Diane Hines, Marybeth (Bob) Ross and Barbara (Bill) Waterkotte; proud grandmother of Beth (Donavon) Graybill, Briah (Joel Niecgorski) Waterkotte, Brenna (Zach Luncinski) Waterkotte, Alicia Hines and Brooke Waterkotte; loving great grandmother of Laycie and Luke Niecgorski; sister of the late Jane (Bob) Clark and John Keith. Mary Lou was a long time member of Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer at Phipps Conservatory, an avid golfer and loved to read and play bridge. She was a strong, independent, funny lady who will be truly missed by her beloved family. A memorial service for Mary Lou will be held at Friendship Village of South Hills, 1290 Boyce Rd., Upper St. Clair, PA 15241 on November 23, 2015 at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Pleasant Hills Public Library, 302 Old Clairton Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236 in memory of Mary Lou.

    Diane, Suzanne, Mare, and Barb- I was so sorry to hear about the passing of mom last week. Aunt Mary was such a joy to be around and I have a permanent vision of her smile in my mind. She could bring the life to any situation and I will always remember all the family reunions. It is great to know she in a peaceful place.
