My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the Cunningham family. She was the strongest most unselfish person I ever met. She taught me so much about patience and having the confidence in myself to do things I would never have attempted. She trained me and ran with me for my first and only half marathon in Jacksonville, Florida andwhen I finished, she was more proud of me than I was for myself. She was my rock, and best friend and I will miss her every single day for the rest of my life. She would tell me to wear those new shoes, use your favorite hair products, light new candles, and never stop pushing yourself. I watched her fight the toughest battle of her life and not once did she complain or say why me. Instead she told me numerous times GOD got this...well GOD I ask you now to take her, and keep her in your loving care. May you be at peace, and start training all the angels in Heaven, to walk, run, bike and never quit. Love you forever my friend...xoxo

So sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. I played basketball with her in high school and she was always a kind soul. As a breast cancer survivor myself, it's always sad and scary to hear of others not winning the battle. She was a fighter over and over from what I hear, but you grow tired and the treatments are harsh. She's at peace and no more suffering. Doesn't make the loss any easier to everyone. Sending prayers for strength during this difficult time.

Maureen was one of a kind. She had a great sense of humor, wonderful laugh and the strongest sense of family loyalty that I have ever seen. I loved to hear stories about about her nieces and nephews. She pushed me to do my first 10 mile run. She never complained about me slowing her down. When she was first diagnosed with cancer years ago, she never complained. Never once did she let the treatments stop her. When he cancer returned, she never complained. That kind of strength is one that I haven't seen. The world lost a great person when she passed. I love you friend. I miss you already. My thoughts to the entire Cunningham family.

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. This is a loss felt all through Brentwood. Maureen and I worked very closely together on the Firecracker 5k & no one will ever be able to fill her shoes. No matter what happened or what crazy idea we had, she was always so upbeat and ready to get it done with energy, a positive attitude & a smile on her face. She will be so deeply missed.

It is hard to write something for someone so dear to your heart. Maureen was that special friend who made you laugh and sometimes even yelled at me. As everyone has said before me that family always came first. She was so proud of all her nieces and nephews. Sometimes I think that is what kept her strong. The evil cancer started to wear her body down but she knew I was there before she went to sleep. With tears in my eyes I said I will see you again my friend. I will never say goodbye. My heart has such an empty hole right now; but I will just say see ya! My sincere sympathy to the entire Cunningham family...you now have that special angel watching over you.
