Facchiano, Michele A., Sr., age 91, of Carrick. Beloved husband for 64 years of the late Antonietta Facchiano; loving and devoted father of Michael A. (Gail) Facchiano, Jr., Michelle (Rosario) Mutarelli, the late Mary Jean (survived by Giuseppe) Casamassa and the late Giovanni ‘John’ (survived by Jane) Facchiano, Sr.; Nono of Giavanna, Alexia, Michael A., III Facchiano, Matteo and Santino Mutarelli, Vincenzo (Jena) Casamassa, Giuseppe (Gina) Casamassa, Giovanni (Julie) Facchiano, Michala, Michael Paul and Gianna Facchiano, Rosaria (Anthony) Stabile; great-grandfather of Nadia, Vincenzo, Vito, Giuseppe, Gino, Rocco, Antonio, Antonella and Luciano; step-grandfather of Tara and step great-grandfather of Christopher and Lauren; son of the late Maria Vincenza Facchiano and Giuseppe Facchiano; brother of the late Giovanna Facchiano. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his extended family in Italy. Immigrating in 1952 from Foiano di Val Fortore, Italy – the lack of money or knowledge of the language did not stop him from creating a better life for him and his family. He established Michael Facchiano Contracting, Inc. in 1956 as a residential cement contracting company which has evolved into a prominent pavement restoration and utility contracting company supported by three generations of his family. Michele was President and CEO and remained active in the oversite of company operations. He was devoted to his family and was a familiar customer in the Strip District and many Italian Pittsburgh grocery stores. Michele enjoyed hunting and time at his farm feeding his chickens, ducks, and other animals. Friends will be received at the John F.
