Obituary For Nancy Marie (Phillips) Borodycia

Age 83, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, of Carrick.

Beloved wife of the late William Borodycia; loving mother of Evelyn (Chama) Zimba, Marianne (the late Robert "Dee") Driscoll; cherished grandmother of Michelle, Marissa, Robert, Shannon, Brendan and Lauren; great-grandmother of Lilah, Xavier, Matteo, plus one to join the family in July; daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Fedornak) Phillips; sister of Linda (Richard) Husak, Anthony (Leafie) Phillips and the late Judy (Gene) Rogers. She remained a special mother-in-law to James Shahan and lifelong friend to Barbara Shahan. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a devout Catholic. She was a generous friend to anyone that met her. Despite her many health issues throughout the years, she still took joy in the little things in life. Nancy loved her family fiercely. Fancy Nancy remained spunky 'til the very end. Nancy's family would like to thank the staff and residents at UPMC Canterbury Place for their love and care that they gave her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 1-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Basil Church at 10:30 a.m.

My best and longest friend. We shared our families before us, while we grew up and then our children and their families. A vacation in Erie after graduation was even more bonding and the nickname "pickels" became so funny to us. Love her, will miss her so much. Rest Fancy Nancy.
