Obituary For Nancy P. Reigel

Nancy Powell Reigel, age 92, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Phillip V. Reigel; loving mother of Kent R. (Ellie) Reigel and Sally J. Reigel; proud Nina of Zachary K. (Alyssa) Reigel; sister of David (Regina) Powell and Deborah (Walt) Ullrich. Also survived by five nephews and their families.

Nancy was a teacher in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District until her retirement. She was a voracious reader and an avid quilter. Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh-Morgantown at www.ronaldmcdonaldhousepghmgtn.org.

    Nancy was a much-loved member of our duplicate bridge group, She was able to play with players of all skill levels and never criticized anyone's play. That made her even more beloved. I continue to miss her and send my sympathy to her family. She was a good friend!

    My condolences to Nancy's family. I was a bridge buddy of Nancy's for the last 12 to 15 years. . Shortly after my retirement I was relearning bridge when I discovered a bridge foursome with Nancy and two other helpful ladies. Nancy was a wonderful bridge player and generously gave me many tips. She also taught me how to keep score and then made me the group's official scorekeeper for the next 10 years!! It was great knowing you, Nancy. Rest in peace.
