Obituary For Ned E. Hornberger

April 16, 1924 - June 3, 2017

Hornberger, Ned E., Sr. Age 93, on Saturday, June 3, 2017, of Overbrook, formerly of Uniontown.

Beloved husband of Donna Garner Hornberger and the late Nancy; father of Mike (Debbie) Garner and the late Ned, Jr. (Joy)Hornberger and Lisa (John) Vidovich; brother-in-law of Doris S. Cuddy; son of the late John and Edna Hornberger. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Ned was the owner/operator of Hornberger Roofing and Heating for 60 yrs. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #509 for 50 yrs. and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Central Europe earnings 5 bronze stars and the Victory Medal. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Tuesday, June 6 from 2-8 pm where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am.

    I worked at Hornberger Roofing for 2 summers in the early 70s. I remember he smoked Marsh Wheeling cigars and was a real nice guy and a good boss.
