Obituary For Norman T. "Bud" Kirsch

Age 90, of Baldwin, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

Beloved husband of 63 years to Margaret "Marge" (Staudt) Kirsch; loving father of Cindy (Bill) Hudson, Tim (Cindy Mulick) Kirsch and Denise (John) Schmitt; pap of Lindsay and Ben Hudson, Casey, Caitlin and Chloe Kirsch and Hanna and Olivia Schmitt; son of the late Clarence T. and Catherine Kirsch; last surviving brother of Ella Bower, James, Charles and William Kirsch and his twin Norma "Sis" Cerovac. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bud was a mechanic for the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. Following his service he was an auto body mechanic. If you knew Bud, he probably fixed your car. He thoroughly enjoyed all of his hobbies: dirt bike riding, sailing, building and flying remote control airplanes and tinkering in his garage. Bud was a longtime and active member of St. Germaine Parish. He was loved and respected by all as a kind man of few words. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, including his morning coffee buddies. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Germaine Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Condolences

We send our love and condolences to Marge Kirsch and to the Bud Kirsch Family. We remember fondly the major roll "Uncle Bud" played in our family. He danced at our weddings; he came to our baptisms, birthday parties and graduations: he supported us during sickness and in health, he advised us when we bought our first cars; he even went sledding with us during winter holidays and took us camping in the summer. He was such a kind person not only to family, but to everyone he came in contact with. We are so fortunate to have had him as a part of our lives. We will miss him so much but know he continues to watch over us. Rest in Peace Uncle Bud. Aunt Jo, Billy, and Jeanine Take solace in the scripture I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness. (2 Timothy 4:7)

We are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Kirsch was a wonderful, quiet, kind man who will be sorely missed. The Schmitts are very fortunate to have been introduced to and get to know Bud and all the Kirsches when Denise and John got together so many years ago. May he rest in the peace of Christ.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Kirsch. He was so cool. Will never forget the camping trip up the summit, when he put his foot out the van door to help the van go up the summit easier. Laughing about it now while I'm typing this. All of you have my deepest sympathy and will keep you in my prayers.

We are truly sorry to hear the news about Bud. He was one of my father's closest friends and I grew up around him. Whether it was riding dirt bikes or making many trips over his house with my father he was like part of our family. He was a VERY smart and kind man and I will always cherish the memories. we send our thoughts and prayers to the Kirsch family.

My second father growing up. One of the kindest men I've ever met. I will never forget the fun you brought to the kids in our neighborhood. Loading us in to the VW van and going sailing, crick walking, or whatever else we could talk you into. You will be sorely missed.
