Parthy was a lifelong teacher and continued her love for teaching even into retirement. After graduating from The University of Houston she spent her entire teaching career in Houston Texas. Parthy loved being involved, and as coach of the Carlton Cadettes flag squad led her team to several national championships, marched and performed in well-known parades around the country, and received numerous letters of congratulations, including several from U.S. Congressman Albert Thomas and Doorkeeper "Fishbait" Miller. Parthy was an avid world traveler visiting many far off and remote lands even living in Japan for a year. St. Peter's Episcopal Church was a cornerstone in her life. To the family of Parthy we wanted you to know just how much she meant to a 14 year old boy. My son Lucas had the privilege of having Ms Papuga for his Sunday School teacher most of his young life. As he got older and she no longer was able to teach she would see him in church especially when he was acoylting and hug him and tell him how proud she was of him. You see my Luc has Cerebral Palsy and has always had trouble walking but she never made him feel different she always made him feel special. She always told him he was smart and good and she was proud of him. How happy she was to see how strong he was becoming after each surgery and how much joy it brought her when he was an acoylte. When I told him she passed he cried because she touch in a such a special way that will last a lifetime for him! Her memory will last in his heart and our families heart always. God Bless you all and know there are so many who loved her and will miss her.
