Age 82, of Brentwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Beloved husband of 62 years to Mary Ellen (Dusch) Bauer; loving father of JoAnn (Scott) Vratarich, Suzanne (the late Daniel) Sobocinski and Paul E. (Amy) Bauer; proud grandfather of Kyle and Troy Vratarich; son of the late Paul A. Sr. and Grace Anna (Williams) Bauer; brother of Robert E. (Barbara) Bauer and Thomas J. (the late Linda) Bauer. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and many friends. Paul grew up in Mt. Oliver where he graduated from St. Joseph High School. He graduated from DeVry Technical Institute and later received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Paul worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. He then went to work for Fisher Scientific Company. Paul then, along with cofounders, started Excel Technology, Inc. and Dynamic Manufacturing. He volunteered his time with many sports organizations, coaching and whatever else was needed. Paul was a super guy, a great husband, loving father, was very generous and often sacrificed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15.
