Our friendship was cut short; but it doesn't lessen the quality of friendship we shared together. We'll always think of him as St Paul who had to have skyrocketed straight to heaven. His gentle & kind nature will fondly be remembered. Bonnie & family-please accept our heartfelt sympathy.

The memories I have with you will stay with me for the rest of my life. You were one of the best guys around. I always appreciated you calling to check up on me and I'll miss hearing your voice. The sign you sent was a good one and I get comfort in knowing your watching over me and my family. Life without you won't be the same. If I can be half the dad you were I think I'll be doing alright. We all love you so much Uncle Paul and thanks for everything.

To The Criswell family my deepest condolences. I knew Captain Criswell from my days in DCA. I flew hundreds of trips with Paul and whenever i saw his name on the trip sheet I knew it was going to be a good one. Paul was just so easy to get along with. Last time I saw him was in LGA ops. He had flown down from PIT to sit short call RSV for "a few hours" before catching the last flight home to PIT. So happy he was flying the 777 , so deserved. I will miss seeing him, Ken Strathie USAIR. AA

My Uncle Paul, you had so much life in you it's still hard to believe it could ever be taken away. Mid 80's top 40 songs will forever be stuck in my head from all of the times you picked me up and drove me around to visit all of your friends, or teach me baseball, or just hang out and buy me food. You were so happy to have a nephew and you were so happy for all of the other children when the family exploded. You had nothing but love and excitement for life. Your energy will always be missed. I always knew you were a great guy but all of the stories that were told after your passing I had no idea, maybe no one did because you were so special to so many and it was never for an ego or bragging or anything like that, it was never for prestige it was only for love. There is a saying about burning the candle at both ends, in the past few days I've learned you were burning the candle in the middle also. thank you so much for all you've done for everyone and the lives you have touched. You lived the equivalent of maybe 3 lives or more in your short life. My families thoughts and prayers go out to Bonita and your children, your loss can never be replaced. I love you Uncle Paul

Many prayers go out to you, Bonnie, and your family. Paul and I flew many trips together and shared many laughs over the years at USAir. He was an outstanding pilot and a terrific person. Always had a great smile and even greater outlook on life. You were taken too soon my friend. I cannot comprehend the the magnitude of your loss but I pray that our Lord and Savior will comfort you and all who knew Paul, as you navigate through this difficult time. Bob Dodds ( retired USAir/ American Airlines).

My dad was a one of a kind man. That is evident through all of the heartfelt messages and outpouring of support. I learned so many life lessons through him being my father that I will carry on to my future family. He served his entire life with love and passion. There was no task below him and he was the most humble guy. I'll remember him for our 48 hour trips to Europe and him taking me on a trip to Las Vegas he was flying for Thanksgiving just to have a seafood buffet dinner together. He always wanted us to squeeze every ounce of any experience. I remember him calling me how excited he was to have an overnight in Idaho the first time because he had another new city to explore. I'll miss his calls and stories of him walking for hours around new cities to explore while grabbing a sub sandwich. I'm thankful to know he had such an impact on everybody he met and left a legacy of love. I love you, Dad.

Paul and I met as new Professional Pilot Major Students. Dave Albert was my roommate and enthusiastically introduced me to his High School buddy Paul ,as he knew we would hit it off. Boy was he right! Paul's easy way and sense of humor immediately compelled me to gravitate toward him. We had a blast together and I enjoyed getting to know him and all the guys From Baldwin HS. Paul and I got our first "real" flying jobs within months of each other at Chrisman Air, and decided to move in together, pulling our resources to survive those lean years. Those are some of my best memories (as I met the love of my life Amy shortly thereafter.) Together we all enjoyed Dinners, parties, cookouts, camping trips, whitewater rafting, boating trips, poker games flying together and a few miscellaneous Florida trips that are all etched into my fondest memories. Our professional Careers literally paralleled one another again getting hired by USAir one month apart. I had the pleasure of riding in the cockpit jumpseat on one of Paul's flights when we were new Captains in the late 90's and I was humbled by his professionalism and exemplary skills. Over the years we may have moved away from each other, but we always stayed in touch.. I was literally going to give Paul a call the day Dave told me "he's gone..,," We had a lot of laughs together and I considered Paul to be one of my life long friends and now I have these memories to help through the tears. God bless Bonnie, the entire Criswell family and Paul annd Bonnie's extended family on the Loss of an incredible Man. I will never forget you Cuz God Speed, affectionately "Toddy"

I met paul over twenty years ago and within days I knew he was a special person. Over the years we formed a bond that i was blessed to have had. Paul was the kindest and most selfless person ive ever met. He was an amazing person always given me positive support when i needed him. He made me part of his beautiful family. We became inseparable friends. He cared so much for the people around him. He always spoke of his family and loved them immensely and would do anything on this planet for them. He loved his wife. He loved his friends . He loved everyone . I never met anyone like him and probably never will again. I truly miss him and express my condolences to Bonnie and the entire Criswell family. I was blessed to be part of his life and will cherish our friendship forever.. Im am very certain he took the direct flight to the Lord. Rest in piece my friend. I wont forget you. We will meet again.

Paul was one of kind with a huge heart. He once chidded me for sending him an email with an update about a matter within my own family. He explained that he was family too and needed a call, emails weren't acceptable. He was right. He was family too.
