I met Philomena while visiting my father's gravesite, Joseph Scarpino's, which is next to Philomena's husband's, about 10 years ago. We talked only briefly, but it was a conversation of depth. Years later, shortly before my mom passed away, Philomena and her daughter Ann happened to be at the cemetery again while I was visiting. Philomena remembered me! I was so glad to see her! Ann, you were so kind and sweet, as well. Coincidentally, my grandmother's name is Philomena and my mom's is Ann. I always felt that those meetings were orchestrated in Heaven. Today, Eastern Sunday, my husband and I visited the cemetery and discovered Philomena's name etched into the stone by her husband's. Now, I will greet them both when I visit my parents' gravesite. What a beautiful person! Philomena's loving nature and radiant soul were evident immediately upon meeting her. My prayers are with all of her loved ones. God bless you.
