Obituary For Ralph C. Baumgart, Sr.

Age 88, unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2024, of Castle Shannon.

Loving husband of 61 years to Pauline T. (Dorfner); beloved father of Ralph C., Jr. (Diane), Dan F. (Doree), Donna M. Dugas, Amy L. (Terry) Huff and Kenneth E. (Kari); proud Pap of Daniel, Caroline (Edward Young), Jake, Sean (Samantha), Meghan (Phil) and Chris (Ann) and families; brother of Donald J. (the late Janice) and the late Edward (Marie), Robert (Jean), Lois (Joe) Nee and Paul (Mary); brother-in-law of Sr. Donna Marie Dorfner (CDP), Wilhelm (Jackie) Dorfner, Martin (the late Audrey) Dorfner, George (Barbara) Dorfner and the late Frank (Betty Lou) Dorfner. Also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Ralph work for more than 40 years for Bell Telephone/Verizon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and playing cards. He was most happy spending time with his family and friends at his cottage "his little bit of heaven". Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday and Sunday, September 21 & 22, 2024 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul of the Cross Parish, St. Anne Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.

    RALPH WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND HUNTER AND LATER BECAME MY BROTHER IN LAW, MARRIED MY YOUNGER SISTER PAULINE AND THEY HAD 5 GREAT CHILDREN.. WE MET IN 1956 IN MT. OLIVER IN JOHNSON'S BAR ALONG WITH SOME OTHER GUYS AND THE FOLLOWING YEAR WE FORMED THE CHARIOTEERS CAR CLUB BECAUSE NONE OF US HAD THE MONEY OR WHERE WITH ALL FOR REALLY NICE NEW CARS THAT WAS REQUIRED TO BE IN THE ELITE AUTO SOCIETY KNOWN AS THE DUAL DEVILS WHOSE HANGOUT WAS THE 1ST EAT'N'PARK RESTAURANT ON RTE 51 NOW KNOWN AS FRANK AND SHIRLEY'S.. WE HAD ABOUT 30 MEMBERS,, MANYYYY GREAT GIRLS,, PARTIES AND PICNICS AT VARIOUS VENUES.. THEN THE INEVITABLE STARTED HAPPENING TO ALL OF US,, ONE BY ONE,, DOWN THE TUBES DUE TO THAT SONG WHICH CAME OUT ABOUT THAT SAME TIME,, NOT A SOUL LEFT ON THE CORNER BECAUSE THOSE "" WEDDING BELLS ARE BREAKING UP THAT OLD GANG OF MINE"" THERE GOES BILL,, THERE GOES RALPH,, THERE GOES MAX,, THERE GOES DON,,,, ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC... AND YOU'ALL KNOW THE REST OF THE END OF THE STORY.. 1 KID AFTER ANOTHER TO CONTINUE OUR SOCIAL SECURITY AS WE DID FOR OUR PARENTS, AUNTS UNCLES AND FRIENDS.. MAY U ALL KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK..
