Obituary For Raymond Aniuk

Age 96, of Pleasant Hills, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Ray was born May 24, 1926 to Adam and Mary Aniuk in Lawrenceville, where he spent his young years. He is survived by "The Love of his Life" Marion Irene Vitulla "MIV" Aniuk; father of the late Brian and Raymond; brother of the late Millie, Sylvia, Sophie, Stella, Helen, Robert and Leonard; brother-in-law of Andy and Juanita Vitulla, Andy was the best man at Ray and MIV's wedding; uncle of Andrea and Dawn (Pete); great-uncle of Mary and Peter A. (Catherine). He was employed at Blaw-Knox for 28 years; while working at Blaw-Knox, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1952 with a BA Degree. At their closing, he went to Alexander Proudfoot as a consultant. He retired from the State of Pennsylvania as a Vet's employment representative in 1983. Ray was a WWII veteran, Navy Frogman. He loved water! He was a life member of DAV, VFW and American Legion. He tended bar on the weekends at Ann's in Bethel Park. He and MIV loved the slots in Vegas and vacations in Aruba and Laughlin, NV. He leaves behind many dear friends who were like family to him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately. Family suggests contributions to Disabled American Veterans, 1000 Liberty Avenue, Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
