Obituary For Raymond Gabriel Casciato

Of Whitehall, age 53, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. After stellar care at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital succumbed to his illness and passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

He graduated from St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin School and Seton LaSalle High School. Raymond was an online and board gamer extraordinaire and he loved to trounce his opponents. Frequently, those who succumbed to his escapades were the Dork Club and his brothers, sister, and nephews. Raymond is survived by his loving mother Rose H. and the late Daniel J. Casciato; brothers Daniel J., Jr. (Judee), and Richard D. (Jane); sisters Alison (Paul) Bartusiak and Andrea (Robert) Hulsman; nephews Andrew, Daniel and Adam Hulsman; nieces Nichole and Sarah Casciato, Emily, Laura, Elizabeth, Paige and Clara Bartusiak. Also survived by his loving aunt Diane (Samuel) Reich; his cousins Joseph (Marcie) Marchase, Rose (David) Porter and the late Matthew Marchase and Dominic Casciato. Raymond was an eclectic music aficionado and a Star Wars devotee.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Central Catholic High School, 4720 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
