Obituary For Regis P. Najeski

Najeski, Regis P. Age 93 on Sunday, September 4, 2022, of Pleasant Hills. Beloved son of the late Felix and Monica (Sobczak) Najeski. Loving brother of the late Arthur Najeski and brother-in-law of the late Mary Najeski. Survived by nieces Monica Najeski (Sonny Ringeisen) of Pittsburgh and Julie Roos (James) of Florida. Great-uncle to Nicholas Najeski and Amanda Martin, honorary Pap to Christopher and Adelie Rose Schmidt, and family friend of Mark and Danielle Schmidt.

Regis retired from the Whitehall Borough Police Department after dedicating 30 years of service. He was a proud Army Veteran who served in the Korean War, and a member of the VFW Post 1810. He was also a life-long member of St. Sylvester’s Parish in Brentwood. Regis enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved to tend to his garden every summer, sharing the fruits of his labor. Regis will be missed by his loved ones and his many lifelong friends.

There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022. Please meet at church. Inurnment immediately after at St. Anne Cemetery. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to a charity of one’s choice in his memory.

I went to Brentwood High School with Regis and we walked home for lunch together daily. Everyone in school was surprised that Regis became a police officer as he was such a jokster with a great sense of humor... and was often in trouble for a silly prank. Such a nice memory of a very nice man!
