Dear Mrs. Fitzsimmons, Rich and I were away at Matt's when your husband passed away. So therefore we were unable to be there to offer our most sincere sympathies . We will now lift you up in prayer, first in thanksgiving for your wonderful life with Gil and secondly that you can endure this sadness by remembering all your loving memories. Keeping you in our loving thoughts. Rich and Kathy and our Children

I just found out this morning about Gil. What a tremendous loss to his family and friends and the community. I have know Gil since he was a little guy and his mom sang in the choir at Butler St. Methodist Church. Then again at East Liberty Church where my husband David was the Head of Christian Education. Gil and David were always in the gym playing basketball. We attended many family affairs especially the Birthday party for his mom. What a loss to this wonderful family. May God's Blessing be with them during this time and celebrate the life of a wonderful man who will be missed by many.

I will very much miss the conversations I had with Gil when we bumped into each other on my morning walks. Our conversations ranged from very serious to highly intellectual to so insanely humorous that an eavesdropper would have had us both committed. My condolences, Sue and family.

Condolences and best thoughts from all of the Devey family. We've known all the Fitzsimmons since I was a toddler and dad was Christian Ed director at East Liberty Presby Church. Gil was well respected, well liked and helped countless people over the years of his ministry.

Dear Sue and Family, Please accept my sympathy in your loss. I was honored to have known Gil for a short time. I loved his dry sense of humor and the bantering we engaged in. I know what a good neighbor he was to my family next door. Always willing to help! I will always remember his smile and that glint in his eyes. A true angel in heaven! God Bless.

I knew Gil from Knoxville Pres Church, he was always joking, so one Sunday close to Halloween a bunch of us had those wax teeth, the big red lips & mustache well he turned around on the pulpit & there we all sat with those wax pieces on, he got a kick out of that! He will be dearly missed. Prayers to Sue & family
