Age 61, of Baldwin Boro, previously of Whitehall Boro, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Born March 13, 1965, the youngest son of Edith M. (Black) and the late John J. Bruschi; brother of Sue (John) Anderson, Bob (Cindy) Bruschi, Dave (Rhonda) Bruschi, Jack (Kristy) Bruschi and Chrissie (Paul) Shipe. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rick was a 1984 graduate of Linsley Academy. He served in the United States Navy from 1985-1989. Rick spent most of his military life underway as a Petty Officer 3rd Class on the USS Alabama (SSBN 731) (Gold), serving the submarine as a mess specialist and a galley watch captain. A job he learned from and excelled at, receiving Citations and conduct awards for his actions. Upon leaving the service and following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Rick became an electrician with the IBEW Local #5, receiving his 30 year pin in 2024. He recently retired and anyone who knew Rick knew he loved DIY projects, preferring to do everything himself. He spent a lot of time doing home improvements, woodworking, cooking, baking, golfing and traveling. Rick enjoyed watching college football, especially Pitt, Pirates baseball, whether they were having a good or bad season, and watching NASCAR. Having a kind heart, Rick was always willing to give anyone a helping hand, whether they were family, friend, or neighbor. He will be sadly missed by all.

Family and friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Where a memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. followed by full military honors. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, 1 N Linden Street, Duquesne, PA 15110.
