Obituary For Richard B. "Dick" Melzner

Age 84, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Husband of the late Yvonne (Burke) Melzner; loving father of Daryle M. (Kevin) Schuster and Daniel S. Melzner; grandfather of Terry (Rachel); son of the late Richard and Dorothy Melzner; brother of Marilyn "Mimi" Gillooly. Richard served in the US Army Reserves and worked for General Motors/Fisher Body for 38 years as a machine repairman. He was the former UAW President and Whitehall Borough Democratic Committeeman. Dick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Fur all Kittys, 1824 Homeville Road, West Mifflin, PA 15122.
