Mr. Carter was my chemistry teacher at BPHS in 1991. Ironically, in 2021 that chemistry class was needed for me to get into nursing school. I often quote Mr. Carter still today. He would tell his students to work hard because " you don't want to be a slacker, loser." I will always remember the great advice and vow to work hard Mr. Carter so I don't become a slacker/loser.... I know Mr. Carter is in heaven and I appreciate all of the chemistry lessons!

I have known Richard for at least 20 years. He was full of life & laughter. His smile & sense of humor were contagious, and I am a better person for knowing him. When he shared his diagnosis with me, I was heart-broken; how could a man so special be dealt such a devastating blow? I know he lived his life to the fullest, and gave his heart & soul into everything & everyone he loved. I will miss him, deeply. I will always remember him, and the way his light touched my soul. My deepest sympathy & heart-felt condolences are extended to all who share in mourning his loss. May everyone find peace & comfort in knowing Richard remains in our hearts, forever.

God bless Uncle Dick, Aunt Linda, Chris, Lenley and Families. He was a Great Man, educated, mechanically inclined, and crafty, which is very rare! Being relentless to help his Son, is what I'll remember most about him, that is beyond Love. That is his Greatest Triumph! Let him rest now, with his new heavenly body, refreshed and loved by those surrounding him, his family that passed before him. While we all hope, that we will meet again, and as we work towards that, we will miss him and continue to love him. God bless all of his relatives, we lost a Great One...â??ï¸?ð???ð??? Nephew Calvin

Mr. Carter enabled me to enjoy my high school chemistry class by making it interesting to learn. The breakthrough for me was when he taught my class the Periodic Table of the Elements. I was so excited that I told my parents about it that evening. From there I went on to earn both a BS and MS in chemistry. I owe him my career. He will be missed.

Everyone wanted Mr Carter for Chem in the early 70s. He made class interesting and he and I would talk cars and Volkswagens. Made an impression on me that has lasted my lifetime so far. Thank you.

My Uncle Dick was a great guy with a warm smile and a kind word and he treated all his nieces and nephews the same. In other words , he never picked favorites. He treated everyone as his favorite and each of his nieces and nephews shared many stories and laughs with him over the years. He will be missed by all the members of all the families that married into the Carters. I will miss his easy going attitude and comedic timing. We can all learn from him and the mutual respect that he showed to all.

Roger and Lynn Angelelli Dear Linda, Christopher and Lenley, Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these times of so many memories of a great man in our community. I will miss Dick's truth telling and importance of always doing and saying the right thing even when it was not politically correct. I admired his straightforwardness. There are so many memories over the years from Brownsville and his nephew, Tuck, and the time that he took Christopher to see me at Mercy Hospital for an audiological evaluation. I will cherish those memories of Dick Carter forever.
