Obituary For Richard D. Ferrari, Sr.

Age 92, on Friday, April 3, 2026, of Beechview.

Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Angeline (Marchitello); father of Rick (Heather) Ferrari, Mark Ferrari and Michael (Kim) Ferrari; proud Nonno of Alex (Eric) Lencer and Ashley (Ian Duchene) Ferrari; son of the late Guido and Lina Ferrari; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rich and Angie grew up together in the Hill District on Congress Street. They later dated, married and started their family. After proudly serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, Rich was self-employed for over 40 years in concrete construction, where his sons also joined him. He was a member of Local 526 in Pittsburgh until his retirement and was a proud sponsor of his "Ferrari Construction" softball team for many years, which won numerous championships. Rich and Angie raised their family in Beechview and resided on Gladys Avenue for over 65 years. Friends and family always enjoyed spending time at their pool and family cookouts. Rich spent his last days at home surrounded by those friends and family, and will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday, April 6, 2026 from 2:00-7:00p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions to a charity of your choice.
