Obituary For Richard F. Verscharen, Sr.

Age 77, of Brentwood, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Janice M. (Walz) Verscharen; loving father of Richard F., Jr. (Jen) Verscharen, Brandon Verscharen (Alicia Maszle) and Jeffrey M. Verscharen; proud Pappy of Hunter and Hannah Verscharen; son of the late Frank and Myrtle Verscharen; brother of Donna Verscharen; son-in-law of the late Albert and Mary Grace Walz. Also survived by numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. Rich served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation and services were held privately. If desired, family suggests contributions to Disabled American Veterans, 1000 Liberty Avenue, Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.     Rich, such a shock to hear that you went home so suddenly...During our teenage years you were basically part of our family as you and my brother Bruce were extremely close in all that you did together, especially your record collecting...All 45's had to be in "green sleeves"! My heart-felt condolences to Jan and your family!!!!

    I met Rich through my client at work Don. Rich was one of Don closest friends. Rich would come to Don's occasionally to talk about music which they both had in common. Don said Rich got him into deejaying. I talked to Rich and he was a nice, funny guy. He sure will be missed by Don and myself and so many other friends. 3
