Richard passed away at the age of 92 on December 22, 2022. He was married to the love of his life, the late MaryAnn (Phillips) Borneman for 60 years. Father to Kevin (Cathy), Cynthia (late Douglas) Howell, Pamela and the late Marlyn, grandfather of 11; great grandfather of 11. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teresa (Meyer) and John Borneman Sr., sister Lucille (Herb) Gilbert, brothers, John (Margie) and Jerome (survived by Susan). He has a surviving sister Lorraine.

Richard worked for West Penn Water Company, Becks Run Station for over 40 years as an operator. He was the biggest fan of sports, he loved his Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers despite their losing seasons as of late. He loved being outdoors and completing various projects around the home. He insisted on doing everything himself, climbing trees and ladders, and mowing his lawn into his eighties. He was known to keep everything, including every t-shirt he ever received, wearing them until they were threadbare.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home at 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227, Thursday December 29, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, December 30, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church, 3754 Brownsville Rd, Brentwood, PA 15227 at 10:30 a.m.
