Tom & Patty Just seeing this now while listening to Melanie --remembering how Rich (nicknamed "Rico" by me back in 1970)and I sat by her on stage when she was at the Syria Mosque in 1972. I sought this just out of curiosity. Rich and I were best friends from when we were kids, and I loved him very much. I will always revere how much he loved dogs and the telephone book-sized scrapbooks he had of them. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Johnny Hartner

Richie was truly and intelligent, caring, and loving individual, as was the entire family. I have great memories of spending many hours with the Maffei family, as a kid, and an adult. Those are great memories I will always cherish. My love to you, Tom and Patti and families, and my sincere sympathy. You are certainly in my prayers. Robin (Marks) Schoss
