Obituary For Richard J. "The Duke & The Captain" Swick, Sr.

Age 88, passed peacefully at his home after battling Parkinson's on Thursday, September 14, 2023, of Baldwin, formerly of South Oakland. Husband of Margaret "Peggy Jo" Devine Swick; father of Richard J. Swick Jr., and Gregory M. Swick; brother of the late Robert "Wally" Swick and John Swick. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A self-made small business owner and proud proprietor of 5th Avenue Salon in Shadyside. He was a proud former member of the United States Navy. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10 a.m.
