Joanne and family, my deepest sympathy and condolences on the passing of Dick. (He would always give me a side-eye look when I called him Mr. Parks.) What a loss to mankind. A truly genuine and honest human being. As a young rookie in the fire department at a fire when he could have taken the nozzle from me, he said "here Tony, you do it" and he backed me up on the hose line the first time I used one on an actual fire. He watched and guided me and explained everything he was telling me to do. He took me skeet shooting for the first time and offered the same patience and guidance. There are just too many times to list how much I learned from him, and how much experience he shared with me and so many others. Thank you Joanne for sharing him with all of us for so long. The world is a lesser place without him. Rest in peace Dick.
