Obituary For Richard Paul Drnevich

March 15, 1946 - March 27, 2018

Drnevich, Richard P. Age 72, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Monday, March 27, 2018. Loving son of Mary and Louis Drnevich (both deceased); survived by eight brothers and sisters, Vincent (Roxanne), Ronald (Kathie), Mary Lou (Edward) Janero, Raymond (Marilyn), Catherine (Thomas) Boylan, Lorraine (Jeffery) Turicik, Denise (Gary) Belancik and David (June). Brother of the late Joseph Drnevich, and uncle to the late Craig Belancik. He was the beloved uncle of 21 nieces and nephews and 21 great-nieces and nephews. Richard was born in North Versailles, PA, a graduate of Notre Dame and University of Michigan. He was an Architect and former Director of the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County. He held offices of President and Executive Director as a long time member of the PA Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies. Richard's passion was to create gourmet meals to entertain family and friends, where too much was never enough! He had countless cherished friendships throughout his life. To have known Richard is to have known a true gentleman with a heart of gold. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15227 P: 412-881-4100 on Friday March 30, from 5-8 PM and Saturday, March 31, from 3-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on MONDAY, April 2, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. Simon and Jude Church, 1607 Greentree Rd., Pittsburgh 15230. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: Maguire Memorial, 2119 Mercer Rd., New Brighton, Pa 15066.

    Dear Family, I had the honor and privilege of knowing Richard (via my brother-in-law) Kevin Lavin. And yes â??a true gentleman with a heart of goldâ??, no truer words. It is a very sad-sad day for me. Sincerely Brian Brogan
