Obituary For Richard Paul Mathews

Age 82, of Baldwin, passed peacefully on August 30, 2025, with his daughter at his side after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Husband of the late Mary Ann (Saglime) Mathews; father of Lisa Rose Mathews; son of the late Frank J. and Mary Rose Mathews; brother of the late Edward F. (Lois) Mathews, Harry F. (Rose) Mathews, Dorothy (Mathews) (William) Mahouski and Paul Matuszak. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a talented artist, avid reader and had a love of music. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45.
