Obituary For Rita A. (Dolle) Heights

Age 101, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late John R. Heights; loving mother of Martie (Dan) Cass and the late Linda Samowich; grandma of Kimberly (James) Carbonara and Chris (Maria) Cass; great-grandmother "Hata" of Luna and Laken. Rita grew up during the Great Depression and WWII. She was a kind and gentle soul who always had a smile for everyone and was most delighted with her little great-granddaughters. She devoted many years volunteering at St. Gabriel Church and Castle Shannon Meals On Wheels until she was 90. Rita lived a long and fulfilling life and will be greatly missed. Friends will be received at her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15236 or Meals on Wheels, 935 Pine Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
