Obituary For Robert Blaine White

R. Blaine White, age 79, of Whitehall on Saturday, July 10, 2021 passed away at ManorCare Whitehall. At that time, the world lost a friendly and extremely caring person. Many would get to know this kindhearted soul from their visits to South Hills Village Mall, finding him eagerly assisting customers with a smile, in the Horne's Department Store, which eventually became Lazarus then Macy's. He spent forty years in service to these stores eventually retiring in 2005. Mr. White also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Mr. White graduated from Baldwin High School and then received a degree from Mt. Union College where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. Mr. White had many pursuits in life. Being a member of the Western PA Genealogical Society, he created an impeccable family tree that traced his ancestors all the way back to the Mayflower Landing. He was also a member of the Masonic Dormont-Whitehall Lodge #684 F & AM, and the Baldwin Community Methodist Church. Proud son of Robert H. and Alice (Greaves) White who preceded him in life. He is survived by cousins. A special thanks to Eleanor Henning, Comfort Keepers, and the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging for providing him with home care for many years. Wherever Mr. White may now currently reside, I am sure he is happily chatting away and making new friends. Goodbye Mr. White and God Bless You. Arrangements were handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.

I will always cherish the wonderful times both our families had when we were growing up and over the years (birthdays, holidays, vacations, and just getting together). I miss you and will especially miss celebrating our birthdays together. May God grant you peace and eternal rest. David and Josephine Bentz Whitehall, PA
