Jess & Melanie, I'm celebrating the life of a good man, and mourning his loss with you. Your Dad touched the lives of so many with his quick wit and big heart. Most of my best memories of working at J Allan and Metals USA involved Rob and his unique ability to find humor in any situation. Rob was a friend, a confidant, and always a sympathetic listener (although I suspect he was mentally rolling his eyes at me during my more dramatic periods, lol) but nonetheless, he certainly made the daily grind a lot less dreary! I know you both find comfort in knowing how very much you were loved, and in the joy and pride he felt in being your Dad. May all the wonderful memories you've shared sustain you through this loss.

I met Rob in March 2023 when I began working with him at MetalsUSA. We became friends immediately. He was so genuine and funny. We got to share a lot with each other in such a short time. I told him I felt like I've known him forever. We had a lot in common, which helped. He was a huge help to me the first few months I began working with him. He explained things to me, so they made sense, and he was always making us laugh. Rob spoke very highly of his mom and daughters, and he seemed so proud of all his family. I will miss him dearly. Rob, may you rest in peace my dear, dear friend.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the memories they shared, and encourage others to share theirs. He was such a special guy and it brings me and my family so much joy reading all of the memories, big or small. Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement, it means the world to us.

I never got the chance to meet Rob in person, only spoke to him on the phone, but he was so sweet always asked me about my weekends my family. He would tell me about his granddaughter and how much he loved her. I would ask him about his mom and daughters it was always good. on my birthday he would always send me an email and call me to sing Happy B-day to me. I am going to miss talking to him. Rob could take the most aggravating work task and make it comical. I loved being able to call in and talk over customers and problems with him. His wit and attitude made all the difference and there's going to be a missing ray of sunshine in my days. He never missed a beat and kept all of us at Skyline constantly on our toes. Sending patience and compassion to his family who were surely blessed to have him.

Rob could light up a room, always changed your mood immediately upon speaking with him. He was one of the most selfless people I knew, always wanted to know about you and your family.....it took much prodding to get him to open up. I'll never forget the patience he had as I entered the steel industry clueless about everything. He was one of the few that helped me through the early days as a vendor and friend. He was one of those people that was unforgettable. Godspeed Rob, you will be missed. Todd

Someone asked me about our Robbie and I told them he was like the sparkle in champagne. He loved life. A good friend and good man. He will be missed.

The world lost a great one! A great son, a great father, a great brother, a great pap pap, a great employee, a great friend, just a great person in all. Rob made coming into work on Mondays a lot easier to deal with. He was great at his job and made you feel like his most important customer! He listened, he cared, he understood, and he could make you laugh. We shared so many stories over the years and I will miss him every day. He was the best friend I never got to meet...... The Lord can take the ones we love, but their memories will live in our hearts forever. You will be missed but I will smile and laugh thinking of the conversations and memories we had.... God Bless his family and loved ones. Gary Hecht and the gang at Forrest Steel
