Age 86, on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, of Baldwin, formerly of Mount Washington. Beloved husband of 66 years to the late Lois M. (Vates); loving father of Robert E. (Michele), Kenneth W., Debra L. Smith, William M., John S. (Carol) and Laura M. (John) Zipfel; grandfather of 11, great-grandfather of 12. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents James T. and Margaret (Forse) Planitzer and siblings James T. Planitzer, Jr. and Audrey Planitzer Flaherty Naab; brother in law of Russell Flaherty and the late Raymond Vates, Dolly Edinger and Jean Meyer. Funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements entrusted to the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.
