"Bobby" was my first cousin the son of my fathers sister, aunt May. Although he was 3 years older than me, we had a very happy and playful childhood together. As the years passed we remained in touch with one another. When my wife and I moved to S.C. I would send Bob many e-mails that he enjoyed and would talk with him on the phone occasionally. I spoke with him about 2 or so months ago when he called to ask if everything was alright with us. He seemed troubled about a near accident he had experienced. I wished him well and asked him to plan a visit with me in S.C. I've framed all of the beautiful Christmas cards he created and has sent me over the years. He was a wonderful person. We are diminished, Dick "Dickie" Smith

Bob was an icon in the design community in Pittsburgh. He was a kind, talented, and caring individual who will be greatly missed. He called me in the past year to inquire about my wife Margaret's health and told me he loved me, a touching, and unexpected sentiment. I always admired Bob, from my first encounter with him in 1968 at Creative Productions. He was a multitalented and energetic individual. He was always quick if wit and happy. I will miss him.
