I was fortunate to be his niece. (He was my Mom's brother). I remember he was quiet in a crowd, by was always very interesting in a private conversation. He loved his family. He was kind and thoughtful. When I was due to start college, my school loans were delayed. The payment deadline was approaching and I was panicking! My mom mentioned that to him and he offered me a loan so that I wouldn't miss the deadline. It was a matter of days until my funds came in, but I always remembered that act of kindness. He will be missed.
