Obituary For Robert P. Bench

Robert P. "Robbie" Bench, 62, of Baldwin, our dear brother, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Rob was the beloved son of Leonard Sr. and the late Irene Bench; beloved brother of Leonard Jr. (Christine), Thomas (Lois), David (Claire), Vincent (Janet), Charles (Margaret), Gary (Dawn), Michael (Kathleen) and James; special friend of Monica. Also survived by 21 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Rob had a zest for life and was a master balsa wood airplane model builder. Rob had a great passion for dirt bikes and the accompanying "need for speed". Always began a conversation with the phrase "long story short". It went from there. There wasn't a kinder or gentler soul. He will be sorely missed. Friends and family will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the 23rd Parish, St. Benedict the Abbot Church at 10:00. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, PA.

I would like to think that Robbie and Uncle Larry are seeing who can build the best balsawood model plane together in heaven. I have many fond memories of Rob growing up along with his friends including my own kids in this great neighborhood. May he Rest In Peace. Aunt Claudia
