Sontag, Robert P., passed peacefully while surrounded by his children. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann and survived by his six children, John (Susan), Sue (Jack), Larry (Donna), Tom (Adam), Kris, and Dave (Maureen), nine grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A longtime St. Germaine parishioner (now Our Lady of Hope parish), Bob loved attending daily Mass and leading the singing. For many years he enjoyed vacations in the Outer Banks with his children and grandchildren, fishing, and golf. A former Marine, he exemplified the motto “Semper Fidelis”. His children and those who knew him are grateful for his unconditional love, unflinching support, humor, and joy of life. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 10:15.
