Age 80, of Whitehall, died peacefully Sunday, May 15, 2022. Ronald was born September 16, 1941, in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Mt. Washington, son of Richard J. Yochum, and Helen J. (Schidlmeier). He was the husband of Roseanna M. Fazio, and the brother of Beverly Kelly of Greensburg and Janet Barnhart of Chicago. Ronald had two sons, Ronald C. Yochum Jr. and Gregory C. Yochum and his partner, Beth Richardson, and a granddaughter, Shannon R. Yochum, all who live in Pittsburgh. Ronald attended the Westinghouse Science Honor Institute, and graduated from South Hills High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1960 to 1962 as a Nuclear Weaponsman and Gunner's Mate Petty Officer 3rd Class. On discharge, he worked at Hagen Chemicals and Control Co. in Pittsburgh, Baldwin Dairy, and Schneider's Dairy, where he served as Shop Steward as a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Ronald enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening, and hunting with his sons. Friends will be received at John F. Slater Funeral Home, 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held on Thursday morning at 9:15. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 10:30 a.m.
