Obituary For Ronald Joseph Miller

October 13, 1934 - March 5, 2018

Miller, Ronald J., age 83, of Baldwin Borough, died peacefully and with prayers answered on Monday, March 5, 2018. Loving husband of 64 years and forever friend to Darleen (Jordan) Miller; very proud father of his four girls and their husbands, Wendy (Ken) Siefert, Rona (Dave) Stockey, Karen (Mark) Vinoverski and Arlene (Dan) Saffer; his joy was his ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Ron worked over 40 years for Matthews International and retired as Division Pattern Department Supervisor. He was an avid hunter and marksman. His love and knowledge was shared by many who he touched by his life. He was a man of faith, hard-working, a gardener, a natural salesman, story-teller, organizer, a man who stood by convictions, a very proud Marine, and had an unsurpassing strong-will and determination. He had many accomplishments in his blessed life, but none compared to the love and pride he had for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was quick to give credit to Darleen, his wife, whom he adored. Their love was inspiring and everlasting. Through the years, he could be found at gyms, fields, and stages cheering on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved sharing in their successes and appreciated the gift of living to see, hold, and know his children's, children's children. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church at 10:00 a.m. The family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I was so sorry to hear about Ron's passing. I treasured the stories my parents (Richard "Tyke" and Bertie Horn) would share about their younger days together. He was such a kind and happy man. Vickey Goldie

What great memories I have of the Miller family living next door on Willett Road growing up. Even though Ron was the "adult", he was never shy about running a race, taking us on in a snowball battle, or a fast sled ride. He taught me how to fix a car, hunt, plant a garden and jump from the second floor into the pool. He was larger than life. Love to D, Wendy, Rona, Karen, and Arlene.
