Obituary For Rose Marie Deffner

Age 93, on Friday, September 8, 2023, of Overbrook.

Beloved wife of 71 years to Henry Deffner; loving mother of Henry II, Kathy (Dan) Pietroboni and Jim (Lisa) Deffner; proud grandma of Megan (Chad) Schneckenburger and Alison Deffner; sister-in-law of Tom (the late Ginny) Deffner. Also survived by her dear friend Eileen Malits and family, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Rose Marie was a long time member of Blessed Trinity Ladies of Charity and a dedicated and endless volunteer at St. Norbert Church. She also enjoyed bingo and playing the lottery. Most importantly she had a loving devotion to the Blessed Mother and the rosary. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 3-7:30 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Please send condolences to www.johnfslater.com.

    Dear Deffner Family, So sorry to hear of Mrs. Deffner's passing. I have many fond memories, one being of Kathy and myself in the summer going up to Brownsville Rd. with a list of items to buy at the local bakery. Also going to Bingo with my mother and the Sunnyland group of ladies. She's now with her heavenly family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all; I'm sorry I can't be there with you.     Sorry for your loss Deffner family. Rose was a good friend to my mom. She would come over and visit mom from time to time. It meant a great deal to mom and to me. You will be missed Rose. Hope there is a great Bingo in Heaven because I know you are there with mom.
