Dear Joanne, Your Mom, "Rosemary" was my co-worker at CBB, but more than that a cherished friend. She was so gracious and kind. She was always giving small, but meaningful gifts, especially at Christmas. She hosted a lovely surprise party for me in her home when my husband and I bought a new house. She was attentive to my 2 children. She came over to watch my daughter go off to her senior prom. So many wonderful memories of an amazing woman! May she rest in eternal peace. Love, Sharon King when my husband and I bought a new house. She also showed great attention to my two children. When my daughter was preparing for her senior prom, Rosemary came to my house to see them off. I will always cherish many memories and her friendship. May she rest in eternal peace. Love, Sharon King

I still can't believe she is gone.. We had wonderful talks over the years on the porch of Stell Tumas, and Fridays at the beauty shop. She was a beautiful person inside and out. And she adored Joanne, her loving And dedicated daughter..She will always be missed.

Joanne Our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved mom. We were blessed to have Rose Marie and Derrill as our lovely neighbors and special friends for 30 years. They were our first neighbors to welcome us to our new home and I fondly remember Rose Marie showing up at my kitchen door one evening bearing a welcome basket. Over the years our friendship grew with our frequent backyard meet-ups while gardening, neighbor night dinners, patio chats and our more recent afternoon visits spending hours sharing stories and many laughs. The depth of love, kindness, compassion, generosity and humor that Rose Marie possessed knew no bounds. She always seemed like a second mom to me and another wonderful grandmother to my children always remaining engaged and interested in their lives over the years, always remembering them on birthdays, milestones and holidays. I'll forever cherish having the fortune of having Rose Marie in our family's life. We will dearly miss her.

We were so fortunate to grow up with Mrs. Shankle as a neighbor. My fondest memory is of her tending to my Mrs. Beasley doll when I walked up the street, rang the doorbell and told her Mrs. Beasley was sick. A close second is when she spun her tale about Charlie the ghost who lived in her dryer. So many fond memories of a wonderful woman who enriched my childhood. My mom, Lucretia, also asked that I include her deepest sympathies to Joanne and extended family. She remembers Rose Marie and Darrill being the first people to welcome our family to the neighborhood. She recalled the fun coffee chats and walks in the neighborhood and evening get togethers. And most importantly she reminded me that Rose Marie was a kind and loving person. She knew we were well taken care of when playing at the Shankle house... croquet in the backyard or climbing the crab apple tree. Everyone should be so lucky as to have a neighbor like Mrs. Shankle. Our love and prayers to Joanne and family. Janine and Lucretia Zangrilli

I posted several pictures on this site earlier and wanted to identify the persons in the photos. The photos are of the DeRosa Girls. Joanne, Anita and RoseMarie. I will miss my football fan partner. Ro loved college football and we shared many hours texting back and forth while the game was on TV. Saturdays will not be the same without her. Love sister Joanne

A compassionate nurse, loving Mother, caring Sister, and on occasion a force to be reckoned with. I was blessed to have her as my oldest sister and to share our joys, fears, laughs and tears. I will miss making a phone call and asking"How are you Sister?" That led to us sharing stories that made her laugh many times and/ or offer support. We had many memorable times together and I am grateful for those times. We shared a love of daisies and family. She blessed my life always cheering me on. We will together again one day but rest in the Lord's arms and know how much you are loved! Love you, Anita Louise.

Prayers for Ro that she is resting in the arms of our Lord. I have many fond memories of Ro and am saddened that I can no longer pick up the phone and say" What are you doing Sister?" I loved when I could make her laugh and she enjoyed many of my " stories" She was generous, kind and caring and a wonderful nurse. We had many memorable times together. Our sisterhood was special and I will always be grateful for having that relationship . I love you Ro and will always remember you with love and thankfulness. Be at peace until we are together again. All my love, Anita
