Obituary For Rosemarie R. (Rogel) Wessner

After a courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, of Baldwin Boro.

Beloved wife of 45 years to William C. Wessner; cherished sister of Margaret Kolano, Joan (the late John Robert) Francis, Thomas (Ruth) Rogel, John (Susan) Rogel, Dr. Valerie (John) Elliot and the late Frank (survived by Carol) Rogel. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, former coworkers and friends. Rosemarie was a honorable and dedicated nurse in the U.S. Navy and in her civilian career. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Monday morning at 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:30 p.m. Masks and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. If desired, family suggests contributions to the Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.

    George Kambic

    I remember Rose as one whom I grew up with. Margie, Joan and Rose. Either Homestead Street or Dooker's Hollow was another home. I was always "Georgie" to Rose. Later on in San Diego, she fooled me into getting swept over by the surf. I woke up in her apartment once with a cat sitting on me and starring me in the face. More later I used to surprise Rose and Bill by walking up to the boat when they did not know I was coming. Great person. Great heart. She lives on in our memories, along with the yellow VW bug.     So sorry to hear of Rosemaries's passing. I remember her friendly way with her younger cousins, and how my mom enjoy seeing her in later years. Rest In Peace. Matt Kambic, New Zealand.
