Obituary For Rosemary Barone

Barone, Rosemary

With great sadness the family of Rosemary Barone, announces her passing at Jefferson Hospital on May 24, 2020 at the age 65.

A lifelong resident of the South Hills, Rose was the daughter to the late Robert P. Bittel, Sr. and Lorraine (Gralka) Bittel, of Baldwin Borough, and sister to Dr. Robert P. (Debbie) Bittel, Jr., Barbara (Lou) Labyoda and George A. (Michele) Bittel.

Rose is survived by her devoted husband Stephen Barone, of Whitehall where they made a home together throughout their 46 year marriage, her loving children: Daniel Barone of Whitehall, Bryan Barone an his wife, Vasthy, of Upper St. Clair, Bradley Barone and his wife Natalie of McMurray and Laura Mary Barone of Whitehall, as well as the five grandchildren Ezra, Alexander, Connor, Bailey and Rory who brought her so much joy. Rose will be deeply missed by her beloved Aunt Rosemary "Bome" and her passing is deeply mourned by her siblings, cousins and her large extended Bittel and Barone families.

Rose served Whitehall Borough both as a Paramedic and as an elected Council Member. Her life was devoted to her service to others, especially to caring for her family. She delighted in opening her home and her heart to children, grandchildren, dogs and relatives. Rose was generous with her love, her time, her smile and especially her playful sense of humor.

Due to current Covid-19 gathering restrictions, services will be private for her family. A memorial donation may be sent to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements by John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227.

I am so sorry to hear of Rose's passing. Yesterday was the day I heard the shocking news. Rose and I served on many committees at St. Gabriel School where our boys were classmates. Lots of laughs there and at Boy Scout activities. God Bless Rose.
