Obituary For Russell P. Blackburn

May 2, 1961 - July 19, 2017

Blackburn, Russell P., Age 56, unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, of Baldwin Borough.

Beloved husband of Jennifer L. Blackburn; loving father of Rusty Blackburn, Tessa (Ryan) Solo, Austin, Zackary and Alexis Stage and the late Casey Blackburn; proud pap-pap of Grayson; brother of Cleva (Jim) Davis, Bruce (Billi) Blackburn and the late John and Linda Blackburn. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to help with final expenses.

    I have deepest sympathies to the Blackburn Anderson family fun and Russell grew up together and they were in love and their story was a fairy tale and a lot of ways I bless you Russell and I wish I knew you were pain I wish you could have came to me any kind of telling me let me know but I was so many miles away you guys are my best friend since the age of 13 I will love you and fun Anderson Blackburn forever Russell and fawn rest in peace

    My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the peace that you seek. I knew Russ through JP Phillips. He was always so friendly. I was very sad to hear of his passing. Gone too young.

    Please accept my deepest condolences and prayers to all of you in this terrible time of sorrow. Russ was an exceptional man and I had the pleasure to work with him during my brief time at JP Phillips. He was the kindest man you could ever meet or work with, always making me feel as comfortable as he could and taking as much time as needed to teach me whatever it was i had to do. He spoke lovingly of his family and it was very easy and clear to see the terrific father and husband that he was. I am so very sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers will be with you always. I consider myself fortunate to have know him and look back on my time with him fondly and with great joy. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
