Obituary For Ruth M. Sobczak

July 10, 1926 - February 21, 2017

Sobczak, Ruth M. (Flaherty) Age 90, peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, originally of the South Side.

Wife of the late Walter Sobczak; dear mother of Peggy Johnston, Karen (Johnny) Greb and the late Joseph (Jenny) and Martin Sobczak; sweet "Grannie George" of eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; sister of Alma DiLucia, Martin (Mary Lee) Flaherty and the late Robert and Richard Flaherty; sister-in-law of Ed (Rose) O'Hearn. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday from 12-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

    May you Rest In the Arms of the Lord in Peace Aunt Ruth. To a Aunt who was so loved and was so much fun to be with. Had lots of fun with you on your visits here to Florida. Such a wonderful woman, mother, wife, grandma, sister, aunt and friend.. You will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
