Obituary For Sandra J. Short

July 22, 1950 - February 26, 2017

Short, Sandra Jeanne Age 66, on Sunday, February 26, 2017, of Baldwin.

Beloved daughter of Gertrude R. and the late George A. Short, Jr.; loving sister of George A. (Michele) Short; aunt of Jason, Daniel and Steven Short; great aunt of Jillian, Jocelyn, Emma, Owen and Persephone; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Friday morning at 9. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Church at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Western PA Humane Society, 1101 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

    I am still in shock,and I send my deepest sympathy to my cousin George,Aunt Gert and the Short family. Sandy was like a big sister to me growing up,she was always fun to be with,big hearted,and a great part of our family. We will miss her dearly. Unfortunately, I will not be able to pay my respects, as I'm in Florida,and my legs make it very difficult to travel. My prayers are with the Short family,and I know God is taking care of her.

    I am so sorry for your loss of this one of a kind amazing lady, who had a heart of gold. I will miss her, very much. There is no one on this earth that can fill her shoes. I knew when I met her 40 years ago that she would be an always friend. Her sense of humor was like no other.     My sincere condolences to the Short Family. She was a awesome person and a great friend. She was my supervisor for years and taught me a lot about computers. She was great to work for and always easy to get along with. I will really miss her.

    My deepest heartfelt sympathies Mrs. Short, George, Michele, Jason, Daniel & Steven. Sandy was my supervisor in the Controller's Off. She spoke of all of you often, always with deep love. So many great stories & conversations she shared on a daily basis, always an interesting gal & a pleasure to be around! Also very, very generous to all, she loved to do something nice for anyone. I know the Great Father above will welcome her with open arms & place her hand in the hand of her beloved Dad whom was her heart & soul!! I pray that God give you all strength & peace to get through this most difficult time.
