Died Monday, August 29, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital at UPMC McKeesport surrounded by his loving siblings. Scott was born May 17, 1964 to Jerome B. and Rita M. (Gorczyca) Kautz. His parents preceded him in death. He was the beloved brother of Susan (Steven) Smith, Gerri Ann (John) Coggins, Bruce (Cindy) Kautz and Amy (Mark) Nadorlik. He was the loving “fun” uncle of Rebecca (Jordan), Rachel, Kayla, Steven, Jacob and Jessica. Scott also dearly loved his great nieces, Addison and Stella, who held a very special place in his heart. Scott graduated from Brentwood High School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He retired from US Steel in early 2022. Scott loved playing his guitar, traveling, golf, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings for his late night calls asking them to “listen to this song”, Scott had a generous heart and spirit and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends and family will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. Family suggests that donations be made to Scott’s favorite charity, Smile Train (smiletrain.org) in his memory.
