September 18, 1936 - July 28, 2017

Macklen, Shirley A. (Loughery, Miller) Age 80, on Friday, July 28, 2017, of Shaler, formerly of North Side.

Wife of the late Michael L. Macklen, Jr. and the late James P. Miller, Sr.; beloved mother of Barbara (Chuck) Samstag, Linda (Joe) Cisar and James (Sherri) Miller, Jr.; stepmother of Marilyn (Ed) Planisek, Susan Macklen, Kevin Macklen, Wayne (Rea) Macklen, Richard (Rebecca) Macklen, Lori Dohar and the late Michael (survived by Denise) Macklen, III; cherished grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister of Daniel Loughery and Patricia (James) Greiner. Preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Blanche Loughery and her siblings, Francis McBriar, William Bray, Margaret Kaszubowski, Samuel Bray, Elizabeth Lechiara and Melva Harmon; sister-in-law of Howard (Josie) Miller, Joy Weber and Joan (Lou) Bott. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Shirley was a member of FOP #1 Auxillary. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Prayer on Thursday morning at 11.
