Walters, Sister Frances, OSF

A member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God for 82 years, died at the age of 100, on April 26, 2016. Born on October 4, 1915, she is survived by her sister Ann and many nieces and nephews. Sister Frances was an excellent primary teacher for 48 years, ministering at both St. Gabriel and St. Valentine Schools, as well as other schools in several states. For 18 years she served as an expert teacher and resource supervisor at the Franciscan Child Day Care Center. Only at the age of 97 did Sister Frances retire and begin her Ministry of Prayer. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday, April 28, from 2-7 p.m. with a wake service at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on April 29 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Germaine Church.
