Passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, formerly of West Mifflin.

She was the daughter of the late William and Vi Baron and the wife of the late George Gill. She was also preceded in death by her son Barry (Gwen) Gill. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Betsy (Jim) Richter and grandsons Scott Gill, C.J. (Jackie) Richter, and Jesse (Kailee) Richter and great-grandchildren Courtney Gill, Remy and June Richter and Bennett, Millie and Milan Richter; sister of Mona (Mike) Brnilovich and the late Joyce (Tony) Forte. She was a member of Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church and more recently enjoyed the fellowship of the circle from Bethel Presbyterian Church. For many years, Sylva sold real estate in the South Hills communities. Always up for an adventure, Sylva and George traveled the world together, spent winters in Florida, golfed in several leagues, and enjoyed entertaining family and the many friends they met on life's journey. Sylva was an avid bridge player who found partners wherever she lived. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 11:30-1:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m.
